Make an Impact - Go Red

February 4th kicks off the Go Red for Women Campaign with the American Heart Association. This year, Leslie Shields, has been nominated as a Woman of Impact and is building a great team of women to raise awareness and funds. So far the team consists of: Yanira Borges, Marissa Heyl, Brandy Danielson, Diana Dupre’, Marissa Heyl, Shyanne Pruit, Mandy Pannell Stephenson, and Victoria Wollmann Wise . These ladies are in the process of organizing several fundraising events; such as a wine night, glass painting class, a women’s workshop, and more!

It’s not just about wearing red. The focus is on preventing heart disease and stroke by promoting healthy lifestyles and raising critically-needed funds to support research and education initiatives.

Since COVID-19 began, the American Heart Association has had to work twice as hard to protect the hearts we all love and save lives from heart disease and stroke. It’s taking a toll on resources at a time when it is needed more than ever as cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 cause of death in this country.
